01. Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped porcelain that are custom made (for shape and colour) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers don’t have to be purely cosmetic. They can help treat many dental conditions and may serve as an alternate solution to dental crowning. Veneers can achieve all this while also having the ability to improve your dental structure, change the shape of your mouth and recover the sparkle in your smile.
While veneers are not a completely permanent treatment, they are exceptionally durable, enabling you to enjoy long lasting changes. You may someday need a replacement set; however, on the ideal candidate with a detailed maintenance routine, veneers may last up to 20 years.

What can I expect when I get porcelain veneers?

Veneer application is a two-step process and requires two separate visits. Having porcelain veneers fitted is fairly pain-free, as the procedure requires little to no anaesthesia.

Upon your initial visit, your natural teeth will be buffed and prepared by shaping them with consideration to the width of the veneer. An impression is then taken of your mouth and your dentist will help you choose an appropriate colour and shade for your teeth against you skin tone.

When you return, your teeth will be cleaned and rinsed with special liquids that will improve the endurance and durability of the bond. Dental bonding cement is then applied to the surface of the natural teeth and the veneers put in place. A special beam of light is then used to set the bonding material and harden the bond.

You will then sit down with your dentist to discuss the proper care of your new smile, including dental hygiene and regular check-ups.

02. Composite Veneers

Utilizing the advances in resin technology, the smile can be recreated in an hour by using direct composite facings. These are high quality facings, which are bonded directly to the tooth, so unlike porcelain veneers, the composite facings only needs one visit.

03. Zoom Laser Teeth Whitening

Using the most powerful tooth whitening system, ZOOM in office whitening provides the quickest way to whiten teeth. With in-office bleaching, the whitening product is applied directly to the teeth. These products can be used in combination with heat, a special light, and/or a laser. Results are seen in only one, 30- to 60-minute treatment.

Teeth whitening is one of the most requested services at Universal Dental. Your teeth will darken over time. Beverages such as coffee, tea, and soda and factors such as childhood medications or illnesses, tobacco use or improper oral hygiene can have an effect on the colour of your teeth. At home whitening often does not provide the results patients are looking for. As trained dental professionals, Universal Dental implements industry-approved techniques to gently and safely whiten your teeth. You can get up to 10 shades difference in just an hour.

04. At Home Whitening

Some patients prefer to whiten their teeth over time at home. Our highly skilled dentists can make impressions (moulds) of your upper and lower teeth. These are used to make models of your teeth. We then make custom-fitted whitening trays for your teeth. At a second appointment, we demonstrate how to apply the whitening gel in the trays. Typically, patients wear these trays for one hour each day until the desired results are achieved. This usually takes 2-3 weeks.
